The Plus Side is my weekly blog post and emails to catch you up on my week, plus some other things I’m loving and want to share. Social media can feel super fast-paced, and it’s easy to miss content you like, so I decided to put everything in one place so you can read and watch at your leisure. I hope you’ll grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and catch-up with me!
Wow! What a week it’s been. I’ve been struggling with the blah-ness of winter but seeing what is happening in Texas (and other southern states) has reminded me how lucky I am to live somewhere that can handle winter weather. I donated to a few people using this google doc that the Instagram account @sharonsayso created.
Otherwise, it’s been a pretty uneventful week. I posted this new video about starting seeds in my garden (and some other random chatty things). I’m loving making youtube content and really proud of how consistent I’ve been. I’m hoping for one video a week and sometimes I’d like to be doing two! Be sure to subscribe – it means SO much to me!
I did this painting class with my mom last week and it was so much fun! I love doing art things and this class felt like a beginner’s guide to acrylics, something I don’t have much experience in. I really want to paint some art for our house so this feels like the first step in that dream.
This week I also rediscovered my love for quick salad kits! My sister, Emily, put me on to them a few weeks ago when she made one for me and now I can’t stop buying them. They are so easy and I feel like the dressings are better than the ones that come in bottles – maybe thats just me though. I have been loving the Dole Premium Kits, especially the Spinach Miso and the Cesar!
I also started using my coffee sock again. Okay, the name coffee sock is kinda funny but it’s basically this sock-shaped thing that you fill with coffee and then run cold water through (in a pitcher). Then you leave it in your fridge overnight (kinda like you would make iced tea) and boom, you have great cold brew. It might be the easiest and cheapest way to make cold brew and it’s SO good and smooth.
This week I also shared this reel about quick self-care you can do during the workday. Along with that blah winter feeling, I’ve also been feeling pretty burnt out in the afternoons. Doing one of these things is SO helpful before getting back to work. Also, I can’t wait until we can work in coffee shops!
Lastly, and maybe most importantly, I got the most amazing sweatshirt from Target. It comes in a ton of colors, is so cozy and oversized, and COVERS. MY . BUM! I’m 5’11” so most sweatshirts just aren’t long enough on me but this one is amazing. It’s also only $25! Highly recommend.
I hope you guys had a good week and are hanging in there! I’m excited for the week ahead and will be vlogging so look out for a week in my life soon! xoxo, Carla
