Jeans are hard. The denim is either too stiff or too stretchy, they are too fitted or gape when you sit down. I’ve spent the past few years compiling a small arsenal of jeans that I love and feel really comfortable in. To me, the most important thing with any pair of pants is that they are comfortable, flattering, and easy to move in! Especially after this year, if I’m wearing jeans I need them to transition from going out to hanging out at home.
My current favorite pair are these Ava & Viv jeans from Target. They have a raw hem and are the softest material. They are a more straight leg cut which I think is not only comfortable but also pretty flattering. I was so excited to find these because they are a more trendy cut and fit my curves so well! I mentioned these in my October Favorites, too!
For a distressed raw edge pair, I love these from Target’s Universal Threads. This denim is much stiffer but still had a nice amount of stretch. They really hold their shape so if that’s important to you, these would be a good option. I also love that they have a vintage feel with the color and feel of the denim.

Loft has been a game-changer for affordable and cute jeans. I have a few pairs of Loft jeans and really enjoy them. I normally wait until they are on sale (I think I got both of these pairs on sale for $25). I love a dark wash skinny jean – they literally go with everything and you can wear almost any shoe with them!
Good American Black Jeans | Sweater | Shoes
My last pair are a bit of a splurge but really worth it. Good American is the Khloe Kardashian brand and I bought this pair of high-rise black jeans from Nordstroms. This brand is great if you’re tall too – these jeans are actually a bit long on me! They have great stretch and definitely suck you in. I always feel really confident in these jeans.
A few weeks back I posted on Instagram about favorite jeans and got a bunch of suggestions for new brands to try so I’m looking forward to updating this post when I invest in some new pairs. I’d really like to give Madewell jeans a try – I have my eyes on this pair and this pair. I’d also like to try some styles outside my normal skinny or straight leg jeans – maybe something like these!
So tell me, what makes the perfect pair of jeans for you? I hope you enjoyed this little round-up of my favorite denim!
