Birthday Bucket List – 26 Things to Do Before I Turn 26
Last year when I turned 24 I made a quick list on my phone of 25 things I wanted to do before I turned 25. 24 was a big year – I moved into our house, got married, and despite a pandemic, still accomplished a ton of stuff on my list. Now that I’m 25 I’m looking forward to working through another list! I really believe in the idea that putting things out into the world helps them happen so here goes nothing.
Sew an article of clothing. I already know how to sew but I want to make an effort to be more creative!
Make a Turkey for Thanksgiving. Pretty sure Max and I are in charge of the turkey this year and I’m so excited.
Grow a more successful garden. I learned so much my first year with a garden so I want to apply that and become even more successful next summer!
Finish decorating my house. Not sure if you can really “finish” decorating, but I’m excited to continue furnishing our house! We still have two spots in the house that don’t have real light fixtures so I’d like to get those installed!
Redo our Master Bathroom. Really hoping we can make this work and replace our 30-year old bathroom!
Read 20 books! I’ve been loving reading these days so I hope I can keep up the pace.
Learn to make more specialty cocktails! This just sounds fun!
Explore a new town!
Go on our honeymoon to Hawaii!
Take a road trip. We did this over the summer and I surprisingly loved it!
Do a phone-free weekend!
Decorate the house for Christmas! This is our first year decorating our house so I’m talking a real tree, garland, maybe even putting Christmas lights on the house!
Find my style. I know this is a lifelong thing but I’d love to refine my style with more high-quality pieces I’ll wear for years and years!
Learn to shoot photos with a film camera. I actually have a film camera, and some film, so all I need to do is learn and experiment with it!
Buy a piece of art. I’d love to start a small collection of meaningful artwork to hang in our home.
Host a dinner party. I love hosting people at our house so this seems like a fun thing to do during the cold winter!
Go Skiing! I love skiing but don’t make it much of a priority during the winter. This year I really want to go!
Volunteer. I like donating to causes that are important to me but I’d love to donate my time this year too!
Spend a week at the lake. I have no idea why I’ve never officially spent a whole week at the lake! Next summer I’m doing it!
Host a Friendsgiving! I’ve never done this and it sounds so fun.
Send Christmas Cards! I LOVE Christmas cards so I can’t wait to send them this year – and hopefully receive some too!
Do a hot air balloon ride. I wanted to do this last year but I’m determined this year.
Learn to play pickleball. So many people seem to love playing and we already have paddles! We just need to make time to go play!
Visit a friend in another state. *crosses fingers we can travel*
DIY some art or decorations for our house! I really want to craft more and challenge myself to paint or make something for our house.
Go to a Michelin Star restaurant. Max and I love trying cool restaurants and I feel like it would be a special treat!
Here’s to hoping I can fit this all in within the next year! Tell me in the comments or over on instagram what you want to do in the next year. I can’t wait to hear!
