I’m always looking for a new place to travel so I thought I’d share some of my top favorites to hopefully inspire you to start planning your 2018 trips!
If you have the chance to make it across the Atlantic this year, I would highly recommend checking out Lisbon! Some say Lisbon is a mix between San Francisco and Paris and I think that’s a perfect way to caption it. There are castles to tour, foods to try and lots and lots of exploring to do! The people are super friendly and the city itself is fairly inexpensive!

Travel doesn’t always need to be tropical! The one bright side to chilly weather is the ability to ski (or snowboard or tube!) Take a snow day and travel to your nearest ski mountain for a day or weekend of winter fun! It’s a great way to get outside and stay active (looking at you, new years resolutions!). If you’ve never skied or snowboarded before be sure to take a lesson before you get started!
Recommendations for the MD area: Seven Springs | Wisp | Liberty
If you know me at all, you know my love for lake vacations! Growing up my grandparents had a house right on the water so I’ve always had the opportunity to spend weekends swimming, boating and sitting around a campfire at night! Try out kayaking, learn to wakeboard or just relax on the dock- it’s all fun when you are sitting by the water. My personal favorite lake desitination is Lake Anna in Mineral, Virginia but any lake near you will do!
Recommendations: Lake Anna | Cider Tasting Room at Lake Anna | Deep Creek Lake
Iceland has been a popular travel destination for a while and for good reason! The countryside is gorgeous and its the perfect place to travel without a specific plan. Do make sure you hit as many waterfalls as you can and to get tickets to the blue lagoon, as they book up quickly!
Recommendations: Blue Lagoon | Airbnb | Indoor Glacier
